Scotland's National Learning Disability Awards

At the weekend it was Scotland’s National Learning Disability Awards ceremony organised by the Scottish Commission for Learning.

Upmo is proud to announce that one of our Project Workers Hannah won the award for Support Worker in association with the Scottish Social Services Council. 

Hannah joined Upmo as a relatively inexperienced member of staff, however her enthusiasm and commitment has since highlighted what a special support worker she is. Hannah began working with a new student with particularly complex communication support needs, including the use of tailored hand on body Signalong system, and has since trained others in the team. Hannah made remarkably quick progress in mastering the system. Hannah and Vicky have both made great strides, and have progressed to working together on activities like mirroring games and drama workshops. 

 Massive congratulations to Hannah and Vicky on this fantastic achievement!
