General Data Protection Statement

Upward Mobility (Upmo) is committed to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals with respect to the processing of their personal data.

Upmo adheres to the key principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (2018) when processing personal data and will:

  • manage and process personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently,

  • collect personal data for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes,

  • ensure that personal data is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary,

  • ensure that personal data is accurate and kept up to date,

  • ensure that personal data will not be kept for longer than is necessary, and

  • ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect personal data.

Upmo has a clear Privacy Policy, which underpins these organisational practices, and a Data Protection Policy.

By providing personal data, individuals are agreeing to its processing and use by Upmo for the purpose for which it was given. Whilst processing personal/sensitive data, Upmo may liaise with regulatory bodies such as social work or the Care Inspectorate. Managers and staff within Upmo will take all the necessary steps to ensure that personal data is kept secure against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. Personal data will only be held for as long as it is needed for its intended purpose. Any data that is no longer required, will be disposed of securely and confidentially. The General Data Protection Regulation 2018 gives individuals the right to access the information held by them. Upmo has a clear Confidentiality and Open Access Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
